OUR STORIES ARE OUR MEDICINE

Writer & Shamanic Practitioner based on Bainbridge Island, WA

When the soul is tended, the nervous system calms. Share your story & tend to your Soul.

In the shamanic practice, our stories are our medicine and it is this philosophy that guides both my writing and my private healing practice. Weather through the written word, or in person during a healing session, bringing light to the dark and facilitating re-connection back to Love lives at the heart of all I do.

With the work I’ve done publicly sharing my own story, my specialty is holding space for women who have held shame and grief, specifically around lat(er) term pregnancy release. But I expand beyond that too.

Sharing our stories has the power to create bridges and heal - not just an individual but a cultural divide.

Work with Me

Sometimes the desire to tell our story comes right away, sometimes, we need years, even decades to pass, before the time arrives. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here. To listen, to tend, to help you heal. And it’s an honor for me to do so.In addition to private one-on-one sessions, I also offer the occasional women’s circle.

Ceremony and ritual give tangible presence to invisible emotions and experiences. They speak a language the grieving mind can absorb and help provide a type of embodiment, which in turn calms the nervous system and connects you back to your body, heart, soul, truth and strength.

“After that evening, I can say, I never felt fragmented again, around this grief... and I feel so grateful for that!”

Writer & Speaker

We all have those moments that break us open. For me, it was the stillbirth of my son after undergoing a lat(er)-term abortion due to medical complications. Something I kept secret for years. I had once judged the act. Now, I know the love behind such a choice and the struggle it takes to come home afterward - not just to who you were before, but who you are now.

Through facilitating women’s groups, as well as from my father, the novelist Karl Marlantes, I’ve witnessed first hand the power sharing stories has to heal - both yourself, and others. So, I took to the page and began telling mine. When Roe v. Wade was overturned, I decided to speak out.
